Updated Travelling Advisory for Muscat, Oman as on 24 Mar'21

GCC Citizens, Residents with valid residency permits and passengers with valid visa are allowed to enter in Oman, without any prior approval effective form 10 December 2020: (CAA circular on 10-Dec-20, 11th, 22nd Feb & 23rd Mar’21)

Arriving Passenger to Muscat:

  •  Expired Visa/180 days Overstay: Employment VISA holder who’s VISA expired and renewed or overstayed above 180 days out of Oman, are not allowed to enter Oman, even if they are holding E- Visa as per latest instructions of Royal Oman Police. Exceptions, holder of family joining and Investor Visa or NOC from DG of Passport and Residence of Oman.  (Sample NOC  attached)(ROP letter 30-Dec-2020).
  • Mandatory RT-PCR test for COVID-19: Passenger should carry 6 copies of RT-PCR Negative certificate from any Govt. Approved Laboratory with validity of 72 hours from the sample collection to Arrival time. (Children aged below 10 years are exempted from COVID-19 PCR test).
  • Mandatory Quarantine/Isolation at own cost Effective from 29th March 2021-02 PM & onward:

 All passengers arriving Oman shall undergo mandatory institutional health isolation at their own expense & must have hotels or institutional isolation booking via the Sahala platform on (https://covid19.emushrif.om/) from 02pm on Monday, 29th Mar21.

                 

                ü   Passengers must produce pre-confirmed hotel reservations (at least for 7 nights) before         
                departure. (Exemption: Provided that, 1.Diplomats working at foreign diplomatic missions
                accredited to the Sultanate, Diplomats visiting the Sultanate and their families, 2.Arrivals under
                the age of 18 or less (If travelling alone) and the age of 60 and above, 3.Aircrew, 4. Sick
                passengers who obtain an exemption in writing (sample attached) from the concerned health
                authorities due to their medical circumstances, 5. Holders of permits for private institutional
                Isolation centers that are pre-approved by the Relief & Shelter Sector etc. are exempted from
                Presenting pre-confirmed hotel reservations.)

                6. Sea crews are also exempted from Presenting pre-confirmed hotel reservations but they  
                must hold a hotel reservation covering the duration of their stay in Oman based on the letter of
                the shipping agent.

 

  • International Health Insurance: Non-Omani citizens or Residence Visa holders travelling to Oman
  • are required to have an ‘International Health Insurance’ covering the cost of treatment for Covid- 19 for period of one month at least.
     
  • On Arrival COVID-19 PCR test: All the passengers coming to Oman subject to COVID-19 PCR test on Arrival and must register themselves before boarding and pay OMR 25 (Twenty Five) through online using bank card on covid19.emushrif: (https://covid19.emushrif.om/pre-registration-info/travelfor the COVID-19 PCR test. Provided that, this amount may be paid upon arrival. (Airlines must not check in any passengers who did not complete this procedures accordingly)
    • Children aged 10 years & below, Diplomats working at foreigner embassies accredited to Oman and diplomats visiting Oman are exempted from COVID-19 PCR test & from the tracking wristband. However, Diplomats working at foreigner embassies are subject to seven-day quarantine.
       
    • While traveling each passenger must carry an Android (Smartphone) Mobile Phone to Download Tarassud+ App from Google Play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=om.gov.moh.tarassudapplicatio n&hl=en
       
    • Before departure (Ex-BD) all passengers must download the Tarassud+ Apps in his/her own smart phone Passengers must have a Smartphone and Omani Mobile active SIM upon arrival. 

Departing Passenger (Ex-Muscat): Must follow below procedures:

  • Mandatory RT-PCR test for COVID-19: Passenger should carry PCR negative certificate from any Govt. Approved Laboratory with validity of 72 hours from the sample collection to Departure time. (Children aged below 10 years are exempted from COVID-19 PCR test).
     
  • Mandatory Hand Gloves & Musk: All passengers must wear Face Musk, Hand Gloves during the whole journey from the time of arrival at Muscat airport till final destination.
