Bangladesh Air Cargo export market has been growing rapidly. Considering rapid growth on export cargo and growing security concern about air cargo, Biman has taken various initiatives to increase warehouse facilities and strengthen security to ensure that all export cargo is safe and secured. Most of the cargo shipments are of readymade garments. Apart from readymade garments, pharmaceuticals, leather and leather goods are the main export items.

Adequate security measures have been put in place at Biman Cargo Village.  CC cameras have been installed and access control of the warehouse has been brought in line with standard security protocol internationally.

Handling of Import Cargo is another area where Biman has made significant progress during the year. On an average, four freighters land at HSIA every day, each carrying 45-110 tons of imported cargo.
